HSC Showcase Evening
Our recent HSC Creative Arts Showcase was a wonderful celebration of the talent, creativity, and dedication of our Year 12 students. The evening highlighted the outstanding Visual Arts works, Drama performances and submissions, Dance core performances, group Drama pieces, and a variety of outstanding Music performances. We extend our gratitude to Mrs Jennifer Grein - Leader of Creative Arts, Mrs Michelle Redman - Assistant Leader of Creative arts and all the staff involved in organising such a sucessful evening.
Parents, families, teachers, and friends in attendance were deeply impressed, and rightly so - our students have set a very high standard and should be proud of all they have achieved so far. As our HSC Creative Arts students move into their final performance exams and complete their major works, we extend to them our very best wishes. We are confident that their passion and dedication will see them achieve wonderful results, and we look forward to celebrating their continued success.

Road Rules Awareness Week
This week is Road Rules Awareness Week, a timely reminder for students, parents, and our wider school community about the importance of safe driving – particularly around school zones and buses. By refreshing our knowledge of key road rules and promoting safe habits, we can all play a part in reducing accidents and keeping our children safe.
A few important reminders:
- Buses are large, heavy vehicles and cannot stop quickly.
- Always give way to buses.
- Slow down to 40km/h when bus lights are flashing – children may unexpectedly cross the road.
- While travelling on a bus, hold on securely and remain seated until the bus comes to a complete stop.
- Downloadable Road User Handbook
- Animation Videos -School Zones and Bus Safety in NSW - Bus flashing lights
- Take the Road Rules Awareness Quiz
Together, let’s spread the word and make our roads safer for everyone.

Coast to Country Charity Walk
This October, the ‘Coast to Country’ Walk will take place from Town Beach to Tamworth – an inspiring initiative led by local mother Jeri Wambeek.
Jeri, daughter of the late Christopher Murphy, former manager of the iconic INXS rock band, is walking to honour her father’s legacy.
Her goal is to raise funds to establish a scholarship program in his name.
-
50% of the funds raised will go to the Hastings Education Fund (HEF), which provides vital support to local students in the Port Macquarie region.
-
50% will go to CEF’s national fund to help establish a new CEF chapter in Tamworth, ensuring even more students receive the support they need.
The walk will begin just after sunrise - around 7:30 am - on the 14th of October at the Port Macquarie PCYC, with community members encouraged to come along, cheer the team on for the start. Please note people aren't able to walk with the C2C team due to road safety, however, you can cheer them on at various points along the walking route from Port Macquarie to Beechwood on Day 1.
The Coast to Country Walk isn’t just a fundraiser—it’s a journey of connection, determination, and hope for a brighter future for our youth.
