College App

For a free download of the Compass app for iPhones and Androids, please visit the Compass for Parents & Carers webpage. Additionally, Android users can find the app on the Google Play Store. The app can also be downloaded on iPads.

Student Reports

Student reports are accessible through the Compass app. Families will receive notification of the release date via the Compass app and the College newsletter.

Digital reports will remain available to access at any point in time and, over the years, will form a very important repository of information on a child’s progress.

Positive Partnership Conversations

St Joseph’s Regional College is committed to building and maintaining strong partnerships with families to enhance the learning and wellbeing of each student. Research provides evidence that this is best achieved when students, parents and the school work together. At the start of the school year, Year 7 Pastoral Care (PC) Teachers will meet with each student and their parents or carers in a Positive Partnership Conversation where each student’s learning goals, strengths and individual needs can be explored. During the Positive Partnership conversation, we will discuss with your child their strengths, challenges, what they want their teachers to know about them and how they learn best.

Parent/Teacher Interviews

At several points through the school year, St Joseph’s Regional College hosts Parent/teacher interviews. As per all conversations in relation to our students’ learning, we encourage your child to attend these appointments.

These interviews are one part of the very important process of our students gaining the most from their schooling and provide an opportunity for parents and teachers to meet to ensure open and collaborative communication, which assists students not only in their learning but in their growth as young men and women.

These 5-minute appointments are scheduled for after school. Parents and carers will be notified via the Compass app and the College Newsletter.

Parents and carers are encouraged to reach out to their child's teacher at any time during the year if they have any concerns or need to discuss matters further.

Information Evenings

Every year, for our incoming Year 7 students and those of our Year 10 students who choose to continue Year 11 and 12 HSC education through St Joseph’s Regional College, we hold information evenings. These are collective efforts from our college staff members to showcase all our college has to offer for those families in the community who are considering or have chosen to enrol here.

For the different year levels, communication and details of the events are advertised via the Compass app, our College Newsletter and Facebook page. Throughout the year, the College hosts various information evenings to assist parents in their partnership with the school to better understand the academic requirements, social challenges and wellbeing of teenagers. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend these evenings.

Social Media

In addition to using the Compass app for communication, St. Joseph's Regional College also utilises Facebook and Instagram to share event updates and photos with the entire school community.
