It is hard to believe we are now at the end of Term 1 and heading into a well-earned holiday break. This term has seen our College close due to the devastating floods which have affected many families and the wider community. As the College Principal, I am proud of our achievements over the past term, and so very grateful to our families for their continued support of their child's learning, for the contributions to fundraising efforts and for giving their time so generously to those in need in our community.
Easter Liturgy
This week we had the joy of inviting families to our Easter Liturgy which was wonderfully prepared and presented by Year 12 Drama and Music, Year 11 Drama and Year 9 Drama classes under the guidance of Mrs Fiona Jensen. I must also thank Year 12 student, Nelson Young, Leader of Catechesis Mr Sean Jennings, our Youth Ministry Offices, Emily Burg and Matthew Stumolo, our trainees, Julianne Byrnes and Harry Amon for all the organisation and behind the scenes preparation. To Mrs Leanne Johnson, Mrs Fiona Jensen and the musicians, thank you, for an outstanding performance.
The students took us on Jesus' journey through the presentation of the Stations of the Cross. The story of Jesus does have a happy ending. Jesus does rise from the grave, and with this, has given us the opportunity to have wisdom in our hearts if we want to listen and experience the love of the risen Jesus.
Thank you for your support this term and I wish you a happy and blessed Holy Easter. Please find some time to attend one of the services across this important season to celebrate the joy of the risen Christ.
I will leave you with an Easter Prayer.
Be still and know that I am God.
Wherever and however you find yourself,
my eyes are always upon you.
Be still and know that I am God.
I will come to take you with me,
all shall be well.
Be still and know that I am God
It is all accomplished now,
and you are mine. Amen.

Principal
This week we announced and acknowledged our 76 Junior Pastoral Care Leaders. It was indeed a special occasion as we were once again able to invite families to the badge presentation held on Wednesday. My sincere thanks to Mrs Sophie Woods, for organising the Junior Leadership program this year.
We have many capable fine young people and opportunities for leadership are abundant at the College. On this occasion, students, in consultation with their PC teachers, were asked to make nominations for the leadership positions. Two Leaders were subsequently elected for each Pastoral Care group. Throughout the year, this group of Junior Pastoral Care Leaders will work with existing House Leaders to build House spirit, carry out community service and represent St Joseph’s Regional College at both community and College events. They will lead their PC groups in team building and bonding activities to foster a greater sense of belonging.
After being presented their badges, our newly elected leaders turned to face our College community to take the Leadership Pledge. Thank you to Jacob Somers and Abbey Fletcher who led the group pledge.
Almighty Father, we stand before you filled with optimism and hope for the year that lies ahead of us.
We ask for humility and generosity in all our words and actions, as we seek to strengthen a sense of
belonging, understanding and harmony within our Pastoral Care groups and houses.
We ask for guidance and wisdom to know the truth and the courage to shine so that 2021 will be a
happy and excellent year at St Joseph'sRegional College.
I congratulate the following 76 students who are about to embark on this very important leadership journey. I have no doubt you will fulfil the role of Junior Pastoral Care Leaders with enthusiasm, maturity and a commitment to work together.
Giant Easter Egg Raffle
A huge THANK YOU to all students and their families who contributed to making this year's Easter raffle the biggest ever. Your generous donations allowed us to have over 100 prizes. All money raised will go towards our Caritas Australia, Project Compassion fundraising effort. We will announce the final total raised next term.
Thank you to Mrs Amy Haydon and Mr Chris Kalchbauer for coordinating the raffle and so beautifully wrapping the prizes.
It was an eggcellent (hahaha) way to finish Term 1.

Term 2 - Winter Uniform
After a busy term, I am sure you are looking forward to a relaxing break. In Terms 2 & 3 students wear their winter uniform; the College tie is a part of the winter uniform and must be worn every day. During the break, please take a moment to ensure your child's uniform meets the College standards. The Uniform Code of Presentation can be found in the College diary on page 10 & 11. It is also available on our College website - https://www.pmreglism.catholic.edu.au/uniform
- Both boys and girls shirts must have the top button done up so that ties can be worn correctly.
- Girls are also asked to ensure their skirts are the correct length, i.e touch the top of the knees NOT above the knee.
- All students are reminded that jumpers must be in good condition and students are not permitted to wear jumpers that have frayed or holey cuffs.
- Students are required to wear the correct shoes at all times; All leather, plain black and polishable shoes. Incorrect shoes, i.e rubber toed and canvas shoes are not permitted.
- Holidays are also a common time for piercings and new hairstyles. We remind parents and students to check the diary to ensure new trends meet College standards.
Finally, I would like to wish all families of St Joseph's Regional College a very holy, restful and safe Easter break. We look forward to students returning on Tuesday, 20th April 2021.
