Year 9 Archibald Prize
This week, I had the pleasure of presenting to the winners of the Year 9 Visual Arts Archibald ‘Student Choice Award’. I was very impressed with the quality of their artwork, with each drawing showing the characters and features of their chosen celebrity.
Thank you to Mrs Renee May for organising this opportunity for students to showcase their work and involving the whole College in the event. I invite you to read more about the competition by Mrs May.
Congratulations to following three very talented Year 9 Visual Arts students who received the majority of the student votes for their ‘Student Choice Award’ Archibald drawings. Whilst they will not receive the $3500.00 prize money to equal the People’s Choice Award for the 2017 Archibald Prize, they will hopefully enjoy their small gift of either an art drawing book, canteen voucher or chocolate!
Thank you to the students who participated and voted.
1st Place: Kate Burgess (drawing of Rhianna)
2nd Place: Jessica Dickinson (drawing of Marilyn Monroe)
3rd Place: Claire McLaughlin (drawing of Angelina Jolie)

It is always a proud moment for me when I see the College being represented by such fine young people, and I thank our students sincerely for their cooperation and reverence at such events.
