DIOCESAN ATHLETICS CARNIVAL
On Thursday 17th August, our very talented SJRC Athletics Squad travelled to Coffs Harbour to compete at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. It was one of the largest squads the College has taken away, with around 95 students attending. SJRC won the overall school points tally with 1054, a wonderful effort by all of our athletes.
There were also a number of school records broken on the day. Congratulations to:

Thank you to the following teachers who travelled with the team: Taylee Eames, Laura Tarrant, Leanne Tinsey and Adrian Daley.

AUSTRALIAN SCOUT MEDALLION
It is with great pride that I share with you an outstanding achievement by Year 9 College student, Lachlan Eggert.

Lachlan is a member of the 2nd Wauchope Scout Group and on 13th August, he was presented with the Australian Scout Medallion, which is the highest award earned by 11 to 14-year-old Scouts and achieved by only the top 5% of Scouts in Australia.

In order to achieve this honourable award, Lachlan undertook activities covering leadership, organisation, drive, determination, resilience and high-level practical Scouting knowledge, such as campcraft and hiking. Lachlan is now recognised as a leader. What a wonderful pathway for young people to learn such valuable life skills.

Our College community is extremely proud of Lachlan? s achievement and we wish him every success with the next youth section of Scouting, called Venturers.

SHINE
Finally, I would like to thank the following teachers for attending SHINE: Christa Morrow, Helen Gilbert and Michael Morson.
