Last Thursday 17th of August the SJRC Athletics Squad traveled to Coffs Harbour to compete at the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. Coffs Harbour turned on a perfect day for us. It was one of the largest squads we have taken away with around 95 students attending. SJRC won the overall school points tally with 1054, the closest school scored 928 (MacKillop Port Macquarie). This is testament to the number of students who showed up for training each week. Awesome effort.
The students were all very keen to show their talents on the track and in the field. Students who placed first in their event (1st and 2nd in the 100m & 200m) qualified for the NSWCCC Carnival to be held at Homebush in Sydney on the 15th September. The following students qualified for the CCC Carnival:
18 in total. A reminder for those who have qualified to complete online registration at the CCC site (advisable to use the information at the following link). If students are not intending to go to Sydney please fill in the Withdrawal Form (also in the package below) and return to Mr. Cannon.
